China NEV LiDAR Market Report (Jan-Jul 2026)

Sales of LiDAR-equipped NEVs in China hit 1.8 million units in Jan-Jul 2026, with the fitment rate up to 33.6% from 16.1% YoY. While the 1 Primary LiDAR configuration remains dominant, its share declined. The penetration of multi-LiDAR setups (1 Primary + 1 / N Blind-spot LiDARs) grew substantially, as OEMs adopt extra blind-spot LiDARs to enhance surrounding perception

Major LiDAR suppliers displayed varied growth and product mix between Jan-Jul 2025 and Jan-Jul 2026. HESAI retained the top position, mostly supplying Primary LiDAR. HUAWEI achieved rapid volume growth, with Blind-spot LiDAR making up 58% of its Jan-Jul 2026 shipments. Seyond and RoboSense also expanded installations. The split between Primary and Blind-spot LiDAR reflects that OEMs adopt differentiated supplier selections for primary and blind-spot LiDAR.

Major LiDAR suppliers show stark differences in customer distribution for Jan-Jul 2026. HESAI has a diversified OEM portfolio. HUAWEI’s shipments are dominated by AITO. Seyond is heavily reliant on Nio, while RoboSense serves Zeekr, Denza and LYNK & CO. Suppliers adopt different client strategies, ranging from broad multi-OEM coverage to deep partnerships with a few strategic automakers
