China NEV ADAS Market Report 2025

In 2025, sales of NEVs equipped with ADAS increased from over 6 million units in 2024 to nearly 9 million units, while the overall ADAS equipment rate also rose from 59.0% to 70.9%. By energy type, the ADAS equipment rate for BEVs increased from 51.1% to 62.9%, that for PHEVs surged sharply from 59.6% to 79.3%, and EREVs maintained a near-100% high equipment rate at 98.3% (a slight decline from 99.2% in 2024)

In 2025, ADAS chip fitment volume in the NEV market saw notable shifts. BEV remained the largest segment, with volume rising from ~4.8M to over 6.0M units, and its share edging up from 58.4% to 59.7%. PHEV experienced strong growth, with volume more than doubling from ~2.0M to ~2.8M units, and its share expanding from 24.1% to 27.1%. In contrast, EREV volume declined from ~1.5M to ~1.3M units, leading to a contraction in its share from 17.5% to 13.1%

Building on the shifting ADAS chip fitment landscape in the NEV market, the 2025 supplier competitive landscape shows clear divergence. NVIDIA leads with a dominant 40.2% MS, +14.2 pct YoY, driven by strong adoption of its Orin series in high-level autonomous driving. Horizon Robotics, Tesla, and Mobileye saw their shares decline to 15.7%, 10.6%, and 8.8% respectively, while domestic players like HiSilicon (9.1% ), Axera (2.8%), and Black Sesame (1.3%) gained momentum. Notably, NIO entered the top 10 for the first time with a 1.1% share, reflecting its in-house chip strategy

Against the shifting 2025 NEV ADAS chip market landscape, major suppliers show clear strategic and ecosystem ties in their customer distribution. Market leader NVIDIA relies on BYD, Xiaomi and Xpeng; Horizon Robotics focuses on BYD, Galaxy and Deepal; HiSilicon is deeply tied to Huawei-backed AITO, Avatr and Luxeed. Meanwhile, Mobileye and Renesas balance domestic and global partnerships; Qualcomm and Axera count Leapmotor as their top client, while Black Sesame focuses on Geely’s Galaxy, all rooted in domestic ecosystems
